The story behind every Kirane piece begins in Jaipur, in our workshop at the heart of Villa Kirane.
It was in 2017 that I discovered India and fell in love with its artisans and their ancestral know-how. A passion that led me to settle between Jaipur and Paris with my partner, Bhanu Singh. Together, we founded Kirane, a brand that embodies our shared vision of ethical and sustainable craftsmanship.
Jaipur, a city that inspires you to create every second
Jaipur is a city where creativity lives on every street corner: on the walls, in the architectural details, on the women's saris, in the murals, the flower bouquets, the colours, the freshness. A place where you want to create every second, a magical place.
Jaipur is also a crossroads of ideas, cultures and influences. Creators from around the world come to settle there for a while, to create and design. All these encounters are incredibly enriching, and infuse a little of everything into Kirane's creations.

The birth of Villa Kirane
Our first workshop came to life in 2018. And in April 2023, it moved into Villa Kirane, in the heart of the Pink City: a small traditional house painted in the colours of India, with its garden and palm trees. This is where we create, where we make, where we work together, as a family. By my side since the beginning: Bhanu, my partner, and the workshop manager at Villa Kirane. It is largely thanks to him that each of my ideas comes to life.
What makes this place different? We take our time here. We sometimes work in the garden, in conditions that are nothing like a conventional office. For us, this was essential: a place for creation and production that feels more like family life than a business.
The demanding choice not to outsource
Having our own workshop, rather than entrusting production to subcontractors, has been close to our hearts since the very beginning. Our goal: to preserve Indian craftsmanship while offering a respectful and ethical working environment to our employees. By paying fair wages and ensuring good working conditions, we have built a unique, sustainable and supportive model. Every piece is made by our salaried artisans in dignified and respectful working conditions.
Making slowly, without waste
This structure also allows us to produce differently:
- Slowly and consciously, in small quantities
- No overproduction, no unnecessary stock, no fabric waste
- In a short supply chain, to manage stock as closely as possible and constantly readjust
- Approaching zero waste: all our fabric offcuts become pouches, cases or glasses holders
We also collaborate with small businesses and family workshops specialising in block print, guaranteeing traditional and ethical know-how. This unique artisanal expertise reflects our commitment to responsible, sustainable production that respects both people and the planet.
Daily life at the Villa
At the Villa, we take our time. Our employees have holidays, lunch is delivered every day in tiffins -- those traditional Indian meal boxes -- and the whole team eats together. Some members of the team have been with us for over 8 years now.
