Behind every cushion, every tablecloth, every embroidered piece, there are hands. And at Villa Kirane, these are increasingly women's hands. This is no accident: it is a commitment that has been present since day one.
A Workshop Designed for Women
"From the beginning, I wanted to create a workshop with many women, to contribute to their empowerment here in India," says Karine. It's not simple: some trades remain reserved for men, and it's not always easy for a woman to find work in good conditions.
Today, we are proud to have more women than men at Villa Kirane. We have adjusted schedules so they can arrive a little later and leave a little earlier — and fulfill their role as mothers, which is so important here. This work provides them with financial autonomy and the pride of participating, in their own way, in their family's life.

A Collaboration with an NGO
For some time now, we have also been working with an NGO that works for the empowerment of women and the schooling of children in a village. A project that has been close to our hearts for a long time.
These women possess incredible expertise — they are true creators — and an immense thirst for learning. The exchange is two-way: we bring them a French touch, a demand for finishing; they pass on Indian know-how, learned from mother to daughter. These are precious moments of sharing, which have become a part of our daily lives.

Pieces That Tell a Story
Choosing a Kirane piece means bringing much more than just a textile into your home. It means extending a chain of gestures, smiles, and transmissions. It means very concretely supporting a fairer work model — that of a workshop where people come before pace.
Throughout the year, we design limited series co-created with these artisans. Pieces crafted and hand-embroidered in small quantities, celebrating their talent.

— At Villa Kirane, every piece is the result of human craftsmanship that we are proud to keep alive.
